In Memory

LaVonne Marie Basler

My beloved sister was born to Georgia and Dale Grosse Sr. on August 8th, 1929 in Buffalo, WY. She died on December 13th, 2005 at Bethany of Silver Lake, WA after several years of struggling with Alzheimer’s disease. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Don Basler, her daughters Bonnie Ferrell of Snohomish, WA, Vicki Crosby (Dave) Lake Stevens, WA and Georgia Swift (Herb) of Arlington, WA, brother Dale Grosse of ID, sister Carlene Farmer of MT, brother Keith Woods of ND, six grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and her life long friend Pat (Patsy) Polley of Everett, WA. LaVonne was several years older than me and spent a lot of her teenage years helping mom raise me. I guess I sometimes embarrassed her when she would take me out with her and I would call her mom. But she loved to tell that story and was proud of having cared for me. She always called me her “baby sister”. LaVonne was a great letter writer, an avid reader, liked to do crossword puzzles and appreciated all kinds of music. She was a devoted wife, mother and sister and our space is a bit hollow without her sweet laughter.

"Cactus Jack"
20 July 1991-28 February 2004

There are not enough words to describe how much we will
miss this fine fellow. His most favorite thing in the whole
world--chasing down those wily old pheasants that would
rather run than fly. "Go get 'em Jack!"
